Understanding cannabis laws, compliance, and THC regulations can understandably get confusing for anyone not involved in the day-to-day cannabis industry. In the following article, we’ll explain the current cannabis regulations and how Sweet Justice’s range of cannabis-infused drinks is compliant and accessible throughout most of the United States.

Understanding the Cannabis Terms
Most cannabis drinks, including our premium range of cannabis-infused beverages, fall under the hemp-derived category. Hemp is a variety of the cannabis-sativa plant family, which, while looking and smelling very similar to marijuana, has some subtle differences.
Firstly, under the 2018 Agricultural Improvement Act or ‘Farm Bill’ as it’s commonly referred to, hemp and all its derivatives (which contain less than 0.3mg of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), are no longer Schedule I drugs, and as such, have been removed from the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).
This was because, under the Farm Bill, a clear definition between hemp and marijuana was made. Hemp is defined as having less than 0.3% total THC. Anything over 0.3% THC, and it’s considered marijuana and federally illegal (but decriminalized in a number of states).
To simplify that a little, THC products that contain THC that was naturally sourced from hemp, which was legally grown and had less than 0.3% THC pre-harvest, are legal in most states under the Farm Bill.
The Popularity of THC-Infused Beverages
There’s no denying that cannabis-infused beverages, including Sweet Justice’s range of hemp-derived cannabis drinks, are proving extremely popular with US consumers.
A variety of cannabis-infused beverages are hitting the market, including Sweet Justice’s exciting new range of drinks, starting with OG Cola, Cherry Cola, and Lemon Ginger Ale. Stay tuned for our upcoming releases, which include flavors such as Elderberry Pom, Pacific Island Punch, Cranberry Ginger Ale, and OG Root Beer, and even some sugar-free options.
The popularity of hemp-infused cannabis drinks is growing for several reasons, including:
- It’s much easier to get the dosage right with hemp-infused cannabis beverages, which typically come in lower and more consistent strengths compared to THC drinks.
- They are more widely available throughout the United States, with many companies, including Sweet Justice, offering both online sales and direct-to-door delivery.
